regardless of what controller you pick....id work on putting your tank in a diet. im assuming you have 5+ additional pumps to run other equipments...i.e. sterilizer, media, chiller. etc. might be able to get crafty with the return line and make a manifold to start feeding some of that equipment thru one pump or your return pump.

to answer your original question, your gonna get a split response with pro's and cons. youre gonna have the profilux group chime in and state that its the best thing since sliced bread.

they're all good controllers. i have been use the apex (ACjr before that) controller for over a year, and its been rock solid reliable, done everything ive asked it to do.

+1 for apex with an extra HD4 outlet for lights

Some lengthy threads below comparing the two of them. I have owned several of both Neptune and Digital Aquatics controllers and IME the Neptune are far better. Better equipment, features and support.

Definitely going larger return pump w/manifold when we put the pump house on the outside wall next Fall.
I've been leaning towards the Apex.

Don't forget the Reef Angel group that throw that option in....reminds me of the i-tech skimmer group as well.

Just went over this he other day. Thanks for all who helped with answers.
The only one that had no problems looked like the Profilux , but what a price.
I still do not know what to get. Good luck

Go for the Profilux if you can swing it. Im still trying to find ways to justify a need for it and pay for it .
Otherwise, can't really go wrong with Neptune.
