Reef keeper or Neptune apex???? Why?

Hi everyone.

I am having trouble on going with the reef keeper lite or the Neptune apex jr What I mainly like about the apex is that I can control it all via an iPhone and the the strip has 8 outlets vs the reef keeper having two pc4 strips and no iphone control. Please I'm looking for your experience and knowledge in this one.

And if anyone is selling any of these systems please let me know thanks.

Comparing outlets for the two I can see you have not done your homework a used reefkeeper pc4 can be had for 50-75 and a used eb8 can be had for aroud double that so that makes outlet cost a wash
.....look to the used forums and pick up a full blown version used for the same cost as a new lite or Jr.....I had the reefkeeper full with every bell and whistle and ended up dumping it for the apex...now that is not to say the apex has not had its issues either ....just do your homework and buy the most bang for your buck to start with instead of having to upgrade later ....also I am running this on a 540 ....

Thanks to all for the responses I wasn't really looking at just the strips I wouldn't have made a decision on that that would have been crazy. I was looking at some of the pros and cons I have seen. I wasn't aware of the reef angel but ill look into that one. Thanks for the answers and please keep them coming. When it comes to these controllers I am beyond an Amateur so please don't kill me. Thanks again

Don't waste your money on anything but the Apex. If you can afford the Apex Lite, that would work for most as it can monitor pH unlike the Jr version. The module PM1 is like $100 and you need to also buy a pH probe. Programming is endless with possibilities.

I had a DA system and switched over to the apex. Once you understand the programming the apex is very simple and easy to use. I downloaded the apps on my iPhone / iPads and my wife controls it without asking me any questions.

Have only had the apex, but I love it. Versatility sold me on the unit. I also love that I can use my pc or ipad to connect and control it.

Its like comparing a hyundai with a benz. With a hyundai your getting a cheap product that does the job but its nothing fancy. With a benz you pay alot more but your getting luxury and better customer care.

Thanks for all the feedback. After your help and looking into them a bit more i think the apex is the better option for me. Especially being able to control it from home I travel a lot so it's cool to be able to do anything from another country. Thanks for ll the help. Now to find one for a good price

You obviously have never owned a hyundai .....10yr 100000 mi bumper to bumper warranty fully covered ever single little piece of plastic or stitch with a guaranteed buy back price at the end of your financing .....even benz doesnt do that .........yes a benz is more luxury but better customer service and a guaranteed buy back price NOT LOL.....luxury yes but a benz now days is like a poor mans luxury .....I drove many diff when buying my last vehicle benz being one of them and my Q56 blew them away with comfort and ride......... if you think a benz is exclusive and luxury just look next time you drive down the road every thug pretending they have money is driving a benz that has to say something for the resale value.....and when a benz is out of warranty get ready to pay through the nose for any work...you should have said a chevy truck or something LOL

:lol: it was just an example! I'm sure the reefk...hyundai's are superb. I've own a reefkeeper for years and its the most frustrating item on my tank in terms of getting more functionality out of it. I've heard better things from the Neptune products.

For future reference I won't insult hyundai's anymore. I'll use a different example.. maybe Beers. :beer:

Compared to the technology an iphone has, both are very obsolete. Common, no built in wifi on either one.

That said.....I have an apex. I like it very much

You can do that with the Reef Angle as well. I just returned from Costa Rica and had no problem monitoring and controlling everything on my tank. The advantage the Reef Angel has is you can program it to do ANYTHING you could EVER dream of. The customer service and support with programming is equal to if not better than all the other controller companies. AND it's the least expensive full controller on the market.

thats is not true there is no such thing as bump to bumper warranty that is just the G they have for people it is only for engine and tranny if you buy the car and not financing will in NY thats how it is :deadhorse1:

Come over sometime and u can drive the wife's new 2014 limited my infinity q56 was 60000 and heck my f150 supercrew also has bumper to bumper till 75000 u must not do to much buying of cars ......
