Reef Lagoon?

Any one here have a saltwater pond or lagoon. I would love to make one for yellow stingrays and other large fish, but i need to save a little more money before i dive into something that large. I have the room to create one but my question is will a concrete basement be negitively affected by the immense weight created from the large amount of water? Any pictures would be appreciated.

I was thinking of making the lagoon about 14 ft x 6 ft x 3 ft deep. What would be the best way to go about this biulding wise. Do you think i could make a plywood frame and then some thinck pond liner or should i do a fiberglass surface over plywood.

The concrete should be fine, unless it was poured jmproperly to begin with. I have seen the pond liners used and they work well. The sides can be plywood....reinforced of course and you can even make a cut out on the front side to place an acrylic panel for viewing if desired.

THanks for the reply.

If i did do concrete do you think it would add too much unneccisary weight and would i cover the concrete with some kind of liner or leave it exposed to the saltwater? I would think to have a liner but I am not sure.

mines about 750gls......only 20"H....2x4 frame w/ 3/4" ply and a 45ml liner....sits right on the slab...been running for 4yrs w/ no issues other than it sweats alittle in the summer
