Reef magazines?

Any good magazines out there? I use to get FAMA years ago and was wondering if any new ones were around just about reefs and marine aquariums? Thanks

Does anyone read Coral magazine? I'd be interested to know their opinion.

I just got my first copy (was a sample). It's a nice magazine, but I have one small issue (no pun intended.) It's kind of difficult to read about anything when the writer puts the latin genus/species after EVERY SINGLE animal listed.

Instead of reading something like:

A great white shark stalks a baby seal, an octopus scurries away while remoras and jacks hang around for any scraps.

I have to read:

A great white shark (Carcharodon Carcharias) stalks a baby seal (Mirounga Leonina), and octopus (Octopus Vulgaris) scurries away while remoras (Remora Brachyptera) and jacks (Trachurus symmetricus) hang around for any scraps.

This is just an example. They identify hundreds of species in an article.

How did you come by the sample? And if you don't mind, could you hazzard a guess at how many pages of actual content there are. I hate paying for a magazine that is all ads.

I subscribe... I think it is worth it. Lots of in depth articles.. Generally they focus on one fish or creature in a magazine. the latest that I just recieved was frogfish. The pictures are amazing and they do a nice job on it. It is a english version of the German magazine (Koralle?) as such it does have a european bent to it... That being said it will become a reference mahgazine for you.. It has for me.
Past issues have talked about live food. Sexual propgation of corals in the aquarium, etc. one had a list of a large amount of snails that are shipped to retail shops.
I think it is worth it as I've said before. in regards to the ads not that many...

Aquacraft sent me a sample with the salt I received.

I have a copy on my desk, so I can give you an accurate ad/article ratio. Sure there are ads, but the pictures are really nice.
