Reef Octopus causing micro bubbles in DT

I recently bought a Reef Octopus BH2000 for my tank. It has been running for about a week and a half now and seems to be working great. The problem I am having is with it returning a lot of micro bubbles into my display. Anyone have a cure for this? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.:idea:

I have the BH100..basically the same thing, but yours has a surface skimmer I believe. These need a little time to 'season' for lack of better term. After maybe a couple weeks or so there will be significantly less bubbles. Also the return comes down and then there is a 90 degree elbow right? I added on to that a short section of pvc so I could attach to that another 45 degree elbow so it angled toward the surface. Now I just have a few large bubbles here and there, no micro bubbles to speak of. Lastly you can check the CPR website (there HOB's are almost identical) and there is a video where they say to angle the whole return to the side and have it 1/2 in, 1/2 out of the water for no bubbles.

PS....reef octopus PVC is a metric size...so 3/4 pvc will work but you have to wrap some layers of teflon tape around it to snug up the fit so it will stay together.

the bubbles will get better, when mine was new I cut a piece of blue foam sponge that came with it to a thin square that fit right over the drain pipe. no more bubbles

I put on over the outlet too, and mine started to overflow...I kept going thinner and thinner, but no luck. I had put one in the last chamber around it...worked ok, then I guess mine seasoned and I took it out when I added the 45.(mostly cuz it was dirty)

I dug out the old sponge for a pic for reference.
its cut to fit loose, basically it is just sitting on the drain.

Thanks for the pic. That is how I currently have mine setup. I did angle the output out of the water and this seemed to help. I guess from what you guys are saying it is just a waiting game. So common in this hobby...lol
