I have the BH100..basically the same thing, but yours has a surface skimmer I believe. These need a little time to 'season' for lack of better term. After maybe a couple weeks or so there will be significantly less bubbles. Also the return comes down and then there is a 90 degree elbow right? I added on to that a short section of pvc so I could attach to that another 45 degree elbow so it angled toward the surface. Now I just have a few large bubbles here and there, no micro bubbles to speak of. Lastly you can check the CPR website (there HOB's are almost identical) and there is a video where they say to angle the whole return to the side and have it 1/2 in, 1/2 out of the water for no bubbles.

PS....reef octopus PVC is a metric size...so 3/4 pvc will work but you have to wrap some layers of teflon tape around it to snug up the fit so it will stay together.
