how much gallon is your tank josh?

I have the smaller 150 model on my 80 gal DT. If the 200 is anything like the 150 then you just got yourself a fine skimmer. I've only had it for a few months but it has been very consistent, never skips a beat and really pulls the gunk. I did not even clean or break in the skimmer, just plopped it in the sump and it started pulling stuff right off the bat.

They are worth the money. The intake pumps can be upgraded easily, too. Just make sure you wait till well after the break-in period to do that.

thanks spiffy
one noob question.
what do you mean by upgrading? to replace the original pump that came with the skimmer?

Yes. The pump on the skimmer can be changed out with a larger one. Poke around on the CoralVue site to see your options. You may need an adapter to fit a different sized pump, but everything you need is on the site. I noticed that there is a new Reef Octopus site, too. You should check that out as well.
