Reef Octopus Skimmer question

I received a NW150 in sump skimmer, I have installed it and after reading the directions closer it states the gate valve needs to out of the water. Unfortunately there is not enough heigh in my stand to elevate the entire skimmer enough to get the gate valve out of the water....recommendations please :headwally:

u may b able to extend the vavle up by adding a longer riser pipe to it. unless they are desinged to run at that exact height.
can u post of pic of the situation?

I tried extending the piping up on my external SRO and it didn't function correctly. Is it not working as is even with the outflow underwater?

It does seem to flowing with it underwater...just want to make sure it will run at peak performance. I am at work so I don't have a picture right now... I have also posted this on the Coral Vue/ Reef Octopus sponsor page (forgot about it, until after I posted this) so hopefully they will be shed some light as well. Thanks for the input!!

Mine discharges about 1/2 way under water - I actually added a 90 turned down so it doesn't spray. I don't know if this decreases the efficiency. I have the NWB200 on a 90g, so it is oversized and I have no problems due to any possible loss of efficiency. Seems to work just fine.
