Reef Pump

I setup a reef pump in my tank today and a buddy of mine gave me a alternating timer. How long of an interval should I set the timer to?

0 15 30 45 60 75 90 sec

Being as a lot of powerheads are not designed to be turned on and off rapidly it probably would not be wise for anybody to tell you a time. List make and model of powerhead then someone will give you reccomendations,

+1 to that if the power head you have makes a clicking noise when it starts it not the type of unit you want to use a timer with ie old style Koralia powerhead

Yes pumps not designed for wave maker functions will wear quickly
