Reef ready tank

Hello,

What is a reef ready tank? What makes a tank reef ready?

Reef ready usually means "pre-drilled" so that a sump system can be used. If it's not pre-drilled, then you either have to drill the holes yourself, or use an overflow siphon.

I just got one from all glass. they are tank`s with per cut holes. I love mine.

Reef ready is really misleading since any tank can hold a reef, but it implies the tank is drilled with an internal overflow or on some of the newer tanks and external overflow. The key is the overflow does not rely on a syphon to work.

Oceanic, and All Glass make RR (Reef Ready) tanks. here are pics of my 120 Oceanic Tech tank. It's RR, and you can stop by anytime if you want to take a look.

The center black box is the overflow, the lockline (black tube) is the return lines.

You can see the 2 drain tubes, and 2 return bulkheads here.
