Reef safe adhesive

overflowin

New member
I recently noticed the home made overflow on my tank (installed by previous owner) is seperating from the glass. When the return pump is off, a significant amount of water will drain to the sump... not good.

I need a reef safe solution to either repair the existing setup, or adhere a new overflow to the back glass. I know silicone is out, I was thinking reef safe epoxy?

Anyone ever done this repair? Save me some time and headaches?

Thanks
Donnie...

I would try the reef safe epoxy. I used some to repair a leaking seam on an HOB skimmer and it held the water just fine.

Better option would be to fit a standpipe into the overflow to the water level you want. I think you'll have a heck of a time getting anything to seal in an up and running tank. Hopefully you have room to add the fittings.
