Reef safe butterfly fish

I have a 55 gallon that I'm going to setup in a few weeks. I'm wandering if there is a reef safe butterfly that I could keep in the tank until it dies (hopefully of old age). I have a clown,a six line wrasse,a pajama cardinal, and a fire fish. I going to get a starry blenny and a couple of blue/green chromis.

Welcome to Reef central!
My feel is that your tank is not that big along with all the crowd you have in it to add a buterfly.
Generally speaking, Coperband (2 types, one is safer than the other) are almost safe and could fit in your size tank. But again, with the other fishes in it, stress could be generated and there would be more chance for it to pick on corals.

I would look into other fishes species if I were you because of the risks here.

Good luck with your project!

So let's say I get rid of the chromis or at least half of them. I don't have the blenny or any of the 4 chromis that I was thinking about adding yet.So in that case I'm open to ideas.

Please don't buy a Copperband. For every 1 that lives countless die. Spare your wallet and the life of the Copperband. I've seen people keep longnose butterflies in a reef tank and they are much easier to take care of. If you are new to Saltwater I absolutely 100% discourage you from buying a copperband.

That was the one that was planning on not getting because of how hard they a to take care of. So I won't be getting one of those for awhile.

Id this?

A foxface sounds good for your tank. Or a bristletooth tang will work as well.

It says on live Aquaria that they are with caution for being reef safe. And it also says that the minimum tank size is 70 gallons. So I don't know if I would be able to put one in to a 55 gallon.By the way my tank is the normal 55 gallon.4 ft long. Also which kind of fox face. It says 70 gallons for a bristle tooth tang to. I want to be able to keep it in at max size.(or until the fish dies(hopefully of old age)).
