Reef Safe Creatures?

so, we mostly have fish in the tank and we're starting the coral thing so obviously i'm certain something will be eating our corals and will need to go.

here's what we have:

2 black percs
2 chromis
1 canary blenny
1 starry blenny
1 coral beauty <- i'm already concerned about him knowing their nature
1 gi-normous black spiny urchin
1 emerald crab
1 yellow watchman goby
1 royal gramma
much many hermits and nassarius snails
2 or 3 turbo snails

while the coral beauty is already on surveillance, who else in the gang should be watching out for to nip at stuff?

I'd say your only concern should be the Coral Beauty. They are typically listed as "Reef Safe with Caution," and with good reason.

I would keep an eye on the urchin, not that he will eat coral, but I hear the spines can often damage coral if in a small tank. Your 75 gal should be enough room though.

I had a long spine urchin that mowed down some of my corals.

You will also hear conflicting stores about emeralds also.

I haven't had any issues with my Coral Beauty, but each one is different.

ya, i'm very worried about the urchin because he's REALLY gi-normous and he's one hungry cat! his body is at least 5 inches in diameter and the spines extend to 9 or 10 inches - the percs love weaving in between his spines which occasionally beats them up a bit...

The urchin would definitely do damage if you decided to keep bubble, frogspawn, hammer...etc in your tank.

I just sold my coral beauty because he was nipping at my finger leathers and kenya trees. Never bothered SPS, Zoas, or anything else.

emeralds will graze on Porites and pick at some other hard corals from time to time but not enough to stop me from always having one in each of my tanks. You might want to get rid of the urchin and just keep a watchful eye on the coral beauty.
