reef safe or no?

think this crab would be reef safe? I have lot of them near me, and I could probably snatch one up about 1" diameter shell.

It's claws are REALLY small, and under-developed. Looks like a grazing type. What do you think?

That looks like some sort of spider crab. I would not even think about putting that in my tank, but I have alot of money invested in my tanks. Maybe try a biotype, would probably need cold water though.
 
A spider crab reef safe? :lolspin: It would be like throwing a wolf into a barn..... it's a pretty good bet something will be eaten!
 
Only crabs I would ever trust in a reef tank are scarlet hermits, POMPOM and porcelin crabs, all else are opportunistic IMO
 
Thats a spider crab they are way over abundance in NJ waters. You can find alot cooler stuff in the back bay areas in the late summer in that area
