Reef-safe to use as weights?

I'm doing a project in my tank, and need something to weigh down a pump.

Ideally some type of block that is flat on both sides, so I can zip-tie the pump to one side and the other side will lay flat on the bottom of the sump. Maybe a few pounds weight.

Any materials come to mind that I could use that would be reef safe? Like some tiles or stone block?

Live rock would be good but I don't think I've ever found any thats flat on both sides.

Do you mean like the marinepure bio blocks? I thought about those too, just not sure they heavy enough.

Good idea! I'll probably go this route. searching that got me into some threads, people using clay bricks and glass bricks.

You're right, but I'm going to have it free standing with PVC plumbing in an L-shape about 1.5 feet, so I'd like to have a heavier base to keep it more stable.

Back in Germany, I used these a lot - even in larva tanks for dottybacks and marine beta - with no ill effects.
