Reef safe wrasse questions

Hello. I am looking into getting a wrasse for my 55 gallon tank. It has only been set up for about 3 months so I know I will not be able to get any of the wrasses that eat pods like the lepeord and potters.

What are some begginer wrasses that everyone would recommend. The only other tank mate so far is a royal gamma. How easy are flasher and fairy wrasses to keep?

Most of the non pod eating wrasses are fairly hardy IME. If you like the flashers then the McCoskers is a beauty. I added one to my DT at the weekend and it was fully settled in within 24 hours.
However, youy problems may arise, not from the wrasse, but from your Royal Gramma. They are very territorial and aggressive and will 'have a go' at fish which are much larger than themselves. So...whatever you add, watch with caution.

Yes, the royal gramma will probably not allow a flasher wrasse to be introduced into a relatively small tank. In a large tank, a royal gramma can establish a territory and be somewhat indifferent outside that territory but not in a 55 gallon tank.

well, aside from the royal gamma question...........
filamented flasher
christmas
mesularus (sp is wrong)
i have the first and last..........the first is very peacefull, lives with gobies no problem, second is very peaceful, lives with a coral beauty and mimic tang and arabian psuedo, who all three are aggressive to new tank mates (added a 4 inch mandrin goby to 75 gallon tank and they all surrounded the poor guy like some kind of gang,,,,,,she wouldnt come out for a week)

i dont know too much about royal gammas
