I did my research ,and wanted to get a blue ribbon eel for my 32 gallon tank. it says its reef safe on the site has anyone had any bad experiances withthis kind of eel asfar as its reef safeness?

Have you read this?

Or this?

take home message-

-survival rate is very low with these species.
-they need excellent water quality and a bigger tank than you have.
-IF it eats, probably not "reef safe" in that small fishes and shrimp will be eaten.

if you are doing your research on a seller's site, remember they have a conflict of interest. they are likely to tell you what you want to hear, not what is likely to occur.

I have not kept ribbon eels because of their very poor survival in captivity. there are challenging species that you can keep with success, but I wouldn't recommend getting this fish, especially if you have less than a decade or more experience with challenging species.

there are a few reports of success, but note that this person reported that the eel ate smaller fish and needed a bigger tank than the 30 he put it in:

if you decide to get one and have success, be sure to post with pictures and details of your set-up. also, if you do not have success, it makes sense to report this as well, to add to knowledge in the hobby.

I suspect starting out with a healthy specimen is key to success, so I wouldn't buy one sight unseen.
