My interest in the hobby has been dwindling, so I'm selling a couple things I haven't been using. Please let me know if you have any questions. Prices are somewhat negotiable, but I'm on a student budget and would be greatful for your support.

DIY Calcium reactor I built a while back. It more or less emulates the Deltec reactors. All it needs is a Mag 3, a CO2 bottle and some teflon tape. Currently has some coral skeletons in it as the media. This could probably handle upwards of a 300gallon tank. $120

40lbs crushed coral (~5gal bucket full). Bought this for my 40gal a while back, used for about 2 months. It's clean. $20

I will be posting some other stuff as soon as I can, including a dual 175w ballast and a single 175w ballast, both with cordsets, 20k XM's, and batwing reflectors. One needs a new capacitor, so I will have to order it ($15).

Calcium reactors are a method for continually adding a small steady stream of Calcium into your tank. Coral skeletons are mostly calcium and growth of these skeletons require a regular supply. Most folks who run SPS type corals will use some sort of calcium reactor to keep the calcium levels constant to replenish the Ca taken from the water from coral growth (versus adding a calcium supplement). Without getting too much into the science, the media in the reactor reacts with CO2 and water and produces an affluent that contains a concentrated amount of Ca in liquid form. That then gets dripped into your water stream, and once you tune it - your Ca levels can remain consistent throughout the day.

Hope this helps!
