Reef tattoo

Hey boys and girls, i need your help. I am considering getting a sock done and would like it to be as colorful as possible. This is going to be my first tattoo so it needs to be perfect.
I have been trying to find some reef related pics and that are colorful so the artist can get some ideas and draw something up. If any of you have photos or reef related tattoo's can you please post them. i know we have some amazing tanks on here and i will possibly use some of them. Also looking for pics of colorful fish right now im thinking anthias, wrasses, magnificent fox face, naso, and possibly some platinum clown will be thrown in there. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

As an artist id say stay away from fish and lean more towards corals etc, fish are a bit harder to pull off in a tattoo, meaning you would have to go to someone who is extremely detail proficient i.e. costs more

I wanna to do something similar, Either my whole back or leg.... I was thinking a clown in a RBTA to start, Sting Ray, Clown trigger, Puffed up Porcupine Puffer ect...

I say Google "Reef Tattoos" and have your artist incorporate all the things you actually like, and if it's a reputable artist, they should have no problem what-so-ever doing this for you and adding their own style to it.

I have a very close friend that owns a very professional tattoo shop and she has no problem with any of that, if they can't get the detail of the fish you want, in my opinion, you should go somewhere else.

I was thinking about getting a sleeve. I have a big sun, the cover of Sublime's self-titled album, on my shoulder and was thinking of having the surface of the water just below the sun and having a reef from my elbow to about midway up my bicep.

i did a google search and it didnt help much. It's funny because i was never a tattoo person but my wife got a nice colorful tattoo on her feet and then the reef idea popped into my head and i just cant stop thinking about it lol. well see how this goes.

I was just looking through a lot of reef tattoo threads here on RC. Try searching that maybe. Pretty cool idea.

i have a friend who owns a shop , he does freehand drawing, he did my both arms and whole back, i have seen him do some big koi fish that were amazing, i can hook you up with him, and im sure he can draw something for you, he has a reef setup in his shop to..

interesting time for this thread to pop up. I'm starting a leg sleeve of game fish skeletons. Starting off with a tarpon. Going to add all the major gamefish I've caught and add to it as I catch more. Everything is going ot be B&W except for the teaser that will be covering almost my whole shin

I checked out his website and went through there gallery. I haven't really had much time lately to do anything lol. I'm hoping to actually go there Saturday if my move goes smooth Friday I'll keep you posted. Can you pm me your friends name
