What is everyones experience with reef test kits? I have a basic kit and need to upgrade, looking for the most comprehensive and reliable kit. Anybody know a good vendor to purchase from that has the best price?

API fairly decent results for the cheaper price tag.
Salifert or Tropic Marin if you insist on slightly better accuracy
Lamotte color wheel test kits are very accurate
Colorimeter if you want extremely accurate results
Experiment with some them make your choices based upon your needs. I personally use several of the above listed and for varying reasons.

I use Salifert for my Alk, Calcium, and mag. This test is pretty easy to use. You dont have to match the colors like some other test kits. With Salifert you just drip until the color changes.

I started out with Red Sea kits. Now I use Sailfert. Sailfert are more accurate and easier to read. Price seems to vary more by brand than by vendor.
