ReefBrite xho Q's

Want to purchase the xho but have no idea what led's or nm they use. I have seen a few videos with some that have uv/violet led's mixed in. I quess my question is does the xho come with the uv/violet or not? Or is that a special order item?

Thanks for the reply. I do understand that they sell 3 different fixtures. The normal tech, xho and a newer on called lumi lite. I run a ATI sunpower over my reef and wanted to add a blue/uv led bar to get that extra pop. The thing that I am trying to figure out is if the xho comes with uv/violet leds. I know that the tech does not. And I have seen some xho's with and without the uv/violet leds and just don't know if that was a change they made to the fixtue or if some of these folks have had it custom built with the added uv.

Just really don't want to drop $350 on the light. Then find out that there wasn't a uv spectrum. Check this vid out and you can see that some of their bars have uv and some don't. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fd6AlbBDIWU

Have you contacted ReefBrite? I believe the have two different wavelengths of blue. Joy told me that the Techs and XHO's have the same colors. I can't find my old emails but I think it was 450 and 465nm. Sometimes the difference can be seen and sometimes not. I have had the most luck seeing it from photographs.

ReefBrite xho Q's

Here is the most noticeable pic I have ever seen by Rehype.

These are 24" XHO's to my knowledge

Thanks for the pic. As you can see there are two different leds used. It would be nice if their website had information about what nm leds they are using in what fixture. Then we wouldn't have to start asking around to see if someone else know's. I am currently using a current usa pro lumen stip. It has 454nm leds. Which look like the lighter blue one's in the pic above. Just doesn't give off the same fluorescence as a lower nm does and that is why I am looking for a strip that has something close to a true uv spectrum.

I emailed Reefbrite. So we will see. Thanks.

Have you looked into 21led or SB Reeflight strips?
Way more info on them.

Hmm, they look the same to me. I'm gonna say those are the actinic's on the outside. The bulbs in the middle are T5's basically a hybrid light they made. I will agree though on more info would be nice about spectrums and such for sure.

Reefbrite also now has a "violet" led. I saw it at Reefapalooza and it looked like an actinic T5 bulb, with appearance of lower par(not visible to eye)

Love my 21ledusa Reef Bars. They really added that Blue POP to my T5H0, and a lot less expensive then the Reefbrites.

The Controller, with Ramp up and Ramp Down plus 100 other features was a real nice touch.

Have Pics and review here:

I looked at their website a few time over the last couple weeks. They aren't showing the 44 inch ultra actinic which is the size I need. But nice write up on them, they look well built.

Yeah it is weird they don't have that length in Ultra Actinic.
Any word from Reefbrite?

No word yet from reefbrite. I did contact world wide corals and asked them. They told me that they didn't have uv in any of their xho's but that they think the xho's come with two wavelengths of blue leds. Didn't know exactly what nm but thought they were 460 and one around 440 nm. I'm thinking that I will still get one and hope that it has the spectrum I am looking for. If not it is still a nice light and why a lot of people use them. If I hear back from reefbrite I will let you all know.

Talked to them this afternoon. They told me I was seeing a glare from the leds that made them look like they were violet/uv. That they only use blue diodes but would not tell me what wavelength they are. Super secret! I know there are a lot of people that swear by them so I'm thinking of pulling the trigger.

Update. I did order the reefbrite xho. Just got it installed and to be honest, I am very disappointed in the color. I was using the true lumen pro 453nm actinic stirp and I can not tell the difference between the two. I also don't see two different leds in this fixture like the previously posted pic shows. I was really wanting it to be a deeper blue then what it is. Oh well at least the corals are getting a little more par.
