Hey there!

Going to be getting back into the hobby and plan on buying a whole new setup during the holiday sale season. Below is the list of equipment I plan on purchasing for my Red Sea Reefer 250 build, please let me know what you think of each item and if you have any recommendations for changes. Going to be running mostly SPS, please also let me know if there are items I am missing!

Tank: Red Sea Reefer 250
Controller: Apex Classic
Lighting: Nanobox quad / 2 x Kessil a160we / 2 x Kessil a360we (undecided on this)
Skimmer: Reef Octopus Classic 150SSS 6"
Powerhead: Vortech MP10WQD (Should I purchase 2?)
Rock: 80lb CaribSea Life Rock
Sand: 80lb CaribSea Special Grade Arag-Alive
Salt: Red Sea Coral Pro
Heater: 2x Eheim Jager 150W (1 for backup)
Reactor: BRS GFO & Carbo reactor
RO/DI: BRS 4 stage
Pump: Syncra Silent 3.0 (714 GPH)
Test Kits: Red Sea
Misc: Flipper Magnetic Cleaner, Refractometer

I put 70# of special grade in my 350 and feel it is pretty darn deep. There are photos on my build thread. Also, don't know if your trying for dsb.

Better to go overpower on the lights and not need it than under.

Also a big fan of running two DI stages on RO unit. Depends on your source water.

I'm in the process of building a Reefer250 as well. I'm going with 2 Kessil 160s. If I really need more, I'll just go with a third. There are two guys on youtube (one I know posts here, pelphrey, who has a great build thread) who have the 160s are they are doing find. Nathan Willard on youtube has an amazing setup and a lot of success with the 160s.

Your setup looks a lot like mine with lighting (Kessils), skimmer, reactor, and heater. I plan on running a DC pump (RO Varios-6) and an MP40. I'm pumped to get mine up and running which won't be for another 6-9 months once I'm in my new house.
