The display on an RKE can display four lines of parameters if you want it to. The RKE head unit is quite a bit more robust than the RKL. Among other things it adds:

Bigger, easier to read display.
More intuitive programming interface.
4 Standby's versus 1 on RKL
63 module limit versus 4 on RKL
Display can be set for different colors. Alarms can flash red on the display.

That is nice to know. I went for the RKE, got it on sale too. Hopefully I like the display and user input from it alot better than the RKL display. I would lave to be able to view 4 lines....so i could see temp, pH, (2) Pc-4 amps?

Also a note for anyone reading ....The RKL for $113 is and excellent basic entry controller for heater peace of mind and simple compact light timers!!
