Reefkeeper Owners... A Little Help Please

I have a 90 gallon corner overflow, running the herbie method. I have got everything running through the reefkeeper which has truly been a game changer. With that said i am running into one issue.

When i put the tank on standby mode to spot feed corals and such of course the water up to the overflow drains into the sump. Problem is when everything comes back on. The water level for the skimmer is so high that it overflows the collection cup. Is there a way to put a delay on the channel for the skimmer so that it comes on say 5 min after everything else?

Maybe your siphon break hole on your return is too low in the water?
In other words, drill another one higher so less water goes into the sump when the return is turned off?
I have a reefkeeper, and i have programmed a standby like this, and i do not have the skimmer issue.

i dont have a siphon break hole drilled, i am planning on doing that but even without the water that siphons there is enough water from the overflow to increase the water level in the sump to initially flood the collection cup when everything comes back on. Do you know of a way to delay a channel after a standby.

Also for the siphon break hole, Everything as far as return plumbing going into my tank is pvc. Will this still work. How large of a hole is needed?

Thanks

You need to have a float switch to turn the skimmer off when the water level rises to a certain point.

If the plug is programmed as a "skimmer" it will automatically give you an option of what to do during a standby (ignore, on, off) and the next option is standby delay time, for how long after a standby to turn it back on.

Programming it as a "MH light" will also give you a 15 minute delay whenever power is off to that plug, whether it's a power outage or standby.
