This evening when I checked out my tank the temperature reading was over 100 and bouncing around everywhere, all exhaust fans and sump fans blasting. I knew immediately after checking the glass thermometer that it was a Reef Keeper I problem. I sent them an email and later looked on their site to find that I was not the only one having this problem, not even the only one in the area.
Replacement probes seem to fix the problem. I have only had my unit about 15 months and the probe was in the same place today as it was 6 months ago. A replacement probe is $15. I am going to order tomorrow, I suggest anyone who owns one to do the same thing. At this time I have no way to control heat/cool other than manual. I would give $30 for the probe if I could have it tonight, definitely something worth having as a spare - I am ordering 2 - I suggest you get a back up if you have a ReefKeeper, it appears as though it is not an uncommon problem.
Someone with a smaller tank, chiller or out of town could see a huge temperature drop resulting in bad things.
