Is it possible to program my reefkeeper to automatically shut off my ato system if it has been on too long

I don't have a ReefKeeper, but the only way to do this would likely be if your Reefkeeper can control your ATO (likely not built in functionality). What I would do is turn on the ATO outlet for a few minutes then off again after the time has elapsed. That way you know for sure that the ATO is only running for a certain amount of time. That is what usually is done with the Apex and an ATO.

You can use a float switch at a high water point to trigger a reefkeeper event.

I have the reefkeeper elite and use a float switch to control my ATO. you can buy these right off the digital aquatics website I forget what module the float switch gets plugged into though. I also forget exactly how I set it up but I think you have to do it with the alarm function.

You can also program a maximum run time, but the problem with doing it that way is that even if you had it send you a warning, you would still need have Internet access to reset the ato after a long run. A float switch is a better solution

Plug the ATO into the PC4 (any port).
Using the SL1, SL2, or SLX you can run a float switch on the "switch ports" When the float switch triggers you have have that action programed to turn off the ATO power outlet that it is plugged into.
