Hi hogpark,

The delay only goes up to 30 minutes. You can set it almost anywhere between 20 seconds to 30 minutes I think.

Just download the instruction manual from the website to find out further info.

I think for the money, this system is very, very good. It is definitely high on my list for things to make my life easier and to lower clutter in the stand.

Peace,
John H.

The problem with softstart is how would you do it. Volts? A pump either has enough power to run or it doesn't. When a new pump comes out we test which minimum voltage is required to start it and keep it running. Generally at 90-100V they start and once running at least 85V is needed to keep it moving and it runs at 3600rpm based on 60 Hz frequency so how exactly would soft start work? It is either on or off. Hz modulation is expensive and could damage the pump so while this would work, it is extremely unlikely to be what they are using. It just isn't technically possible at a low cost.

Hey Roger,

That's pretty much what is stated on the website, that true soft start is not feasible due to its prohibitive cost. They say they have a kind of pseudo soft start, which I have no idea what that means, but they aren't really trying to pull the wool over anybody's eyes, claiming that they are providing a true soft start mechanism.

They use some method or phenomenon to kind of make it easier on the pump. Who knows if it is true or not?

Peace,
John H.
