Im thinking about getting a reefkeeper2 for my 120 gal. I was wonder if you can make automatic water changes with it. It says it controls pumps i just wasnt sure if i could use it to turn on a pump to take a few gallons out a day then turn another one out to put fresh saltwater in?

I use a reefkeeper 2 and like it.

It wont do auto water changes. The best way to do that is a dual head peristaltic pump that pumps a metered amount of water in at the same time the other head pumps the same metered amount out.

I couldnt just turn it on for the amount of time it takes to pump the amount of water out and back in. If not do you have any more information on the pumps you mentioned

Any decent controller can be set up to do auto water changes, including the RK2. However, I would look at the Reefkeeper Lite for that. Float switches can be incorporated to get it done exactly the way you want it to.

Hey I got a 120 and the rk2 too... if you figure out how to do it without buying a new controller as davemorris states, let me know
