Hope you got a good deal as I think he will be getting a lot of e-mails after these pics.
Is the air intake loud with it being that big and how many gallons are you putting through it.

I think we should photoshop that shot of wiz, put a crown on his head and crown him king of the skimmer, or is that his captain morgan spiced rum pose. He He He

Thats is a heck of a skimmer...I hope it cost 2 to 3 times the Orca or I'm gonna be seriously jealous.

:-D NOPE!

Wizsmaster, you've now commited double mutiny. First you start
this thread, then have the guts to sell your skimmer here and now showing off your upgraded model. I must say she is sweet, but now you must spill the beans and tell us how much was she and whats the air draw? Just for kicks please take a side by side pic. I did contact spazz months ago and the cheapest model he had at that time was about $2500, too bad he did'nt tell me this was coming.

Hey wizsmaster , nice skimmer ! I see it's a true counter -current design and am interested to know how much better it skims compared to the co-current design .
cheers

I am surprised to see the cone to body seam does not look very clean.

nice skimmer
That is the only seam that is not 100% clean - and scott called me beforehand to tell me about it - he was not happy about it, and offered to replace it since it did not match up to his standards .... i was pressed for time & told him i would take it as it was .... he said his offer still stands to replace it if it ever becomes a problem, or If i would like it replaced.

haha .. i know ... i kind of felt bad ... and still do .. just hadn't gotten around to take nice pics to start up a new thread for the spazz skimmers ... I will do that soon, and would like to ask everybody to direct their comments into the other thread when directed towards the spazz skimmer ...
For the record - I didn't sell and switch from the Reeflo 250 to the Volcano for any reason other than trying out something different and wanting a few more options that the reeflo didn't have (I.E. wetneck, carbon lid, drain & able to disassemble) - The reeflo did very well for me, cleaned up my water & brightened the colors in most of my corals! The reeflo is a great skimmer for the money - but i was willing and wanting to give another skimmer a try. Lets see what this one can and will do for me. :)

For pricing, you will have to contact spazz - this is a beta unit, Yes - I did get a little bit of a discount, however we will be trying out different needlewheels, and possibly other body parts to make sure the first production unit will be trouble free & efficient.

This skimmer is doing well so far - way to early to draw any conclusions ... i can already see that it will do fine, and scott is committed to modify and build needlewheels until we find a style/combo that will be the most efficient and provide the expected performance.

I've already had the reeflo packed up for tomorrow voyage... pump, or pipes - just body for size comparison

reef specialty??? do you feel the new neck and cup will sove the problem of my lid hovering and spilling bubbled skimate out and down the sides. I feed heavy and this seems to happy when I start increasing bacterial from dosing a sugar. thanks please let me know. back a few pages I posted a picture of what I'm talking about.

Very good point about extending the level of the riser when installing the new cup!

Seems like the extra room is just what you need to help with your foam issue speedstar

Here are the results of the new Reef Specialty cups.
I took dwyer meter testings on the reeflo 250 with the stock cup and the new Reef Specialty cup. The New cup does infact hinder the air pull but by only 1 scfh and I am not too sure if that is accurate. The dwyer meter bounces with the stock cup at 48-50+. The Reef Specialty Upgrade cup hoovers at 50 scfh.

So overall the new cup does not have an impact in venturi performance. If anything it made the airpull more stable, hence proving my theory that these skimmers are stunted in hieght inorder to widen the market for them.

This is the Dwyer meter reading with the old cup bouncing between 48-50+

This is the reading with the upgrade cup it stayed at 50scfh
dwyerwithnewcup.jpg

My meter was a little to small as it only reeds to 50 scfhs and these skimmer can pull up to 90 scfhs. So I had to open the dwyer valve fully open to do an airpull test just to show that the venturi still pulls the same amount of air. I expect that others will conduct their own test that came be more accurate.

Nice Skimmer,I heard about these Reef Flo skimmers but have yet to see one in action keep us updated with some skimmate pics.

Is the 250 quiet, my return pump (Dart) is not all that quiet. I suspect this has the hum of the Dart.

Looking for it to be super quiet as the tank is in my living room next to my couch.
