The gold series pumps flow charts are available at reeflo pumps website. Looks like we need to redesign these skimmers. I was afraid of that, but then again they work very well as is.

Why do you feel it needs a design change when so many people have raved about the skimmer. Including myself. mine pulls out coffee gunk.

I mean just because a new pump is out doesn't mean it needs redesigned. If that were true every skimmer by anybody needs redesigned.

Now if your saying it needs a new design because of the taller neck then maybe, or at least let it be an option because I understand they are going to sell many more due to the current height vs. the taller cup.

or did i miss something? just wondering....
 
I wonder if these are using the Baldor Super-e motors. I know Bermuda Aquatics pumps uses the Baldor Super-e motors. Their 1/3 HP motor uses less than 300 watts on my kill-a-watt meter.

Baldor Super-E motors have more copper in the windings for better efficiency.
 
I did say they work very well as is. Mine is doing an excellent job as well. It does not need a design change with the current orca pump, only if you wanted to use one of the stronger pumps and that would have to be tested first. I am just being picky. My point is that there is little you can do to upgrade these as is....when the main skimmer body is permanently sealed to the upper chamber. The skimmer could have been designed to grow if needed with extension tubes like the larger cup. As is, my tank is running better than ever and I probably dont even need the cup extension, but its nice to have options and the new cup allows you to run more water through the skimmer and allows you to skim drier. Options are good in my opinion and with these new pumps it may be able to work just a little bit better as is. Maybe Reeflo could tell us that. Happy Holidays

Nothing wrong with being picky, its why we are where we are...

I must say though its one bad butt skimmer, I have never seen anything pull something out that litterally made me gag when I cleaned it.
 
My 250 has been up and running approx. three weeks now and I absolutely love the skimmate production! I have owned ETSS, MRC, and ASM's before and this skimmer just amazes me.
 
Is anybody running the 200 model on say a 300ish total volume system?
Thoughts and input?
I can't get the 250 due to it's footprint size

Would be awesome if they made a 225 version (10") model
Hmmm.... maybe have to look into a DIY
 
The 200 has not been released yet. I will esily handle a heavy stocked 300 gal system with an air intake of 1500 LPH. I am hoping to have mine next week. I will be running it on my 180gal + 75 gal sump/fuge. Orca skimmers is another option if you want a custom skimmer but I think am almost sure that a 200 will handle your system. I will let everyone know once I receive my 200 and have run some tests.
 
Sounds Good, I have seen the 200 and it looks like it will fit the bill but want some feedback first.
Looking to upgrade in the spring but doing research now ;)

Ive seen the 200 as well it will be a monster.
 
I think most 250 owners are putting between 400-700 GPH with the stock cup. I would suggest the lower end for your size system though.
 
I put in a pre order for the 200 this evening. Can hardly wait for it to arrive! I've been told that it will probably show up in the next couple of weeks.

For what its worth, I have around the same size as you maybe just a tad more counting the equipments and stuff. But i'm pushing just around 400-500 gph. That of course is just an estimate.
