about the ozone, i used a mrc ozone port from my mr2. i first connected it to my pump and then the wedge valve to the ozone port. that way the venturi helps pull the ozone in. i also put the second line from my air pump into the top of the air silencer to get more air in and it helped out a lot! oh yeah i have a 200 not a 250 but it shouldn't make much difference!

Hurley give Mike @ Reef Specialty a call. He can tell you how to mod your skimmer for Ozone. He just went over it with me last night.

Yeah, i hate to do that. I didn't purchase it from him, and would feel a little weird about asking him for service when I didn't purchase it from there. I was thinking that you would just have to change the seals, and add the ozone to the air intake. It couldn't be much more than that could it?

I had my first flood :( The water level had been stable for a week, then I heard my returns blowing air in the middle of the night. The entire living room and dining room were flooded. MY HUSBAND WAS SO MAD!!!! So, I am going to put the drainage bottle in a bucket and hook up a top off switch to turn the air off if it ever happens again!

It really isn't much more than that. Mike from Reef Specialty doesn't care if you purchased a product from him or someone else. He seems to help alot of Reeflo owners that purchased from other companies. The way I see it is he is in the business to help and see other reefers succeed. I would still give him a call, he was one of the first owners of the Reeflo 250 and has been running ozone since day one, I am sure he would be more than happy to guide you through it.

I had to move the skimmer out from under the stand and re-do the drain pipe so that it wasn't higher than the "T". The water level didn't go lower than the highest point of the drain. Once I made it level, it worked perfectly! (Until my flood)

Mine has never overflowed in the 9 months I've had it. I wonder why people keep having problems with this.

Have you thought about getting the auto shutoff container from Mike?

i wonder what leads to the overflows as well. i ran a becket skimmer before, that could overflow for apparently random reasons. but i have no idea how this skimmer can do it. unless there were algae or something stuck in the needlewheel and screwing up production, then you dial it in to a water level, and when the obstruction is freed, voila. could someone educate us please?

The majority of the overflows are due to the water height set too high before the skimmer has broken in. So when the skimmer breaks in the increase of air that was previously popped by the oils are now reaching the neck - cup- and to the floor.

Give it three weeks. It will look to be broken in at two with a nice thick head of foam but it still has not fully broken in, trust me. Only time my friend, give it time.

ho humm, the wait goes on. Here's a little series of pics I took while I wait. Yes.......i'm bored.

It is here! I love today! Got a question already. It seems there is an extra fitting coming off of mine that I do not see on any of the other pics. You can see it in the first pic. It is the fitting on the back right corner. It is a 90 coming out then a 90 coming down. It does not show it at all on the diagram. Any ideas on what it might be for?

That is the drain like on the Reeflo 200s

Yes, Thanks. I thought that when I found the ball valve in the box.
