I finally built the box to sit the skimmer on and have it up and running. Wow, this is a great skimmer. It took about 3 hours for the first foam to go into the collection cup.

I just grabbed my new cup and safety shutoff. Thanks Jeremy for picking it up and thanks to Mike@Reef Specialty. Tank looks great Jeremy... enjoy the frags. ;)

Wow!
The cup is so much bigger then what the pictures portray it to be. I'll get some shots when the cup breaks in.

Reef Specialty Monster Cup

Reef Specialty Monster Cup

Well last Friday this was waiting for me on the porch when I got home

I got it inside and cut it open and found it very well packed - double boxed.

And tons of peanuts...

Here's a comparison shot to show how much larger the Reef Specialty cup is:

Here it is breaking in on my ReeFlo 250.

Two hours later it is already producing a good head of foam

12 hours later I woke up to this

And this is what it's been pulling out for the last 3 days...

What a way to spend some of my tax refund!

It's nice to know that when you purchase a quality skimmer like the Reeflo 250, you have an upgrade path available to you. The Reef Specialty cup and the ReeFlo Dart Gold are a perfect match for this skimmer and well worth the investment IMO. Thanks to Reef Specialty and ReeFlo for making it possible.

Ok I just went through like 20 pages of the thread and have found a couple of refrences to the Ozone upgrades, but I havn't seen where to purchase or get more information. Any help? I'm really interested in this as I have been wanting to add ozone for some time and am still on the fence. If this is a decent upgrade for the skimmer it may just push me over.

That float switch is a def. purchase. I myself have never had an overlfow yet, but I'm sure it will happen sooner or later. Better safe than sorry.

Here are the shots of the mod I did to the air silencer to inject ozone.

anyone know the size of th drain hose from the skimmer head to the waste collector? (coming off the nipple on the skimmer head)

I need to replace mine and I am too lazy to run all the way home and then go to the hardware store

Just a few pics of the beast. Man I love the look of this thing.

They are awesome, huh? Cant wait to get mine going.

Quick question, did you do anything to waterproof your stand? Just wondering because it looked unfinished in the pic, and you might want to put some sort of sealant on if you havent already.

mcliffy2, You don't have your new tank setup done yet? what's the hold up? JK, I looked through your tank build and it's looking good buddy. When are you going to plumb that beast?
