Lunchbucket

Mike that's the best skimmate pic yet of the Sequence orca. look at the thick chuncks of crap it is pulling out. The kicker is that is is not fully broken in yet. I really can't wait for the snapper version becomes available.

Very nice Mike!!!!

These skimmers are a great new option for systems in need of larger skimmers. Congrats!!!

Do they make them for different size tanks?

They only have one size at the moment, but will have a smaller version down the road.

It's a very nice skimmer. I'm sure someone will take offense to this, but I'll say it anyways...
The skimmer body isn't as nice as the H&S it's replacing. It kind of reminds me of my old MRC MR-6R construction wise, which is better then Deltec's body(I like to aggrivate you Deltec owners). ;)

So far I give it a 10 for value, 10 for performance, and a 7 for the construction of the skimmer itself.

Performance is what matters most to me, so I'm very happy with my purchase.

I'm not taking any offense ... I see it as constructive criticism.
If you don't mind me asking, what is it that you are refering to?

I think construction wise, it's very clean.
Performance wise, pretty good so far.
Engeneering wise .. a few changes i'd make in future revisions:
1. Twist neck
2. Drain in box
3. Removable bubble difuser for easy cleaning of box

Overall - I am happy with my purchase.

<I'm NOT happy about constantly having to clean this bad boy though ... makes smelly waste!>

The only thing i would like to tweak is that my oringinal sump design was for my beckett skimmer. That i feed with a external pump via a bulkhead.
The reeffloe i am using a pump that just sits in my sump and as the water level drops so does the level in the skimmer. If I new that this was going to be my skimmer when I built the sump. i would of have had a baffle to keep the water level the same were the feed pump sits.
Or i need to set up an ATO.

What has everyone paid for the Orca 250. I found one for 1450.00 shipped on ebay is that a good deal. All the other sites I have seen them at are like 1500 plus shipping.
