Reefobsession 93 Cube Build!!!!

Do you make these adjustments on the 400W bulb or change bulbs?

With the 400W bulb. It just dims it down to 50%. I don't thin it harms the bulb at all as long as you run it at that wattage for the day and then switch back to 400W the next day. Fluctuation of the bulb might not be wise all the time, but if you do it only a couple of times, it should be all right.

I would like to see some full tank shots that show the light also on 400w. If I set up this tank it will be an all sps tank and I want to be able to use every inch, that is why I ask about the reflector.

Yeah sure I will get some pics up later this early evening.

Here are some pics of the light. The water was cloudy this morning because of my jawfish digging.

looking good!! any difficulty tuning it in??

Nope not at all. It cam assembled and it surprisingly is made of high quality material. Pump runs quiet and it is really easy to adjust the water level. The air valve is a really nice touch, you can easily adjust the amount of air intake. I just plopped it in my sump plugged it in, set the water level and thats it. I think it is a sharp looking skimmer.

i agree. looks like a real work-horse!!

I would say it is all ready got a really nice foam head and is just about to make skimmate. Really impressed with this skimmer thus far. I hope I made a wise decision selling off the octo cone. It was just to cramped and I felt I relaly didn't need that much skimmer power. I will probably keep my fish load on the medium side.

Finch-Does the pics of the light setup help you out? Let me know if I need ot get some more pics from ya.

It won't be long until I start getting some SPS frags. :bounce1::bounce1:

Well.... I really screwed up this time... I dropped my fiance's camera in the sump while taking pictures of the skimmer. SO much for buying corals or stuff for my fish tank in the near future......

Unfortunately I don't have a cat. Good idea though. haha Well I guess it is time to buy a nice camera that I can take some nice macros with. The camera is really cheap now, I can get her same camera for like $40 on ebay. haha. But I feel that it would be a waste of money because the thing is pretty bad. My parents are considering upgrading from their camera. I can't think of the name, but it is a nice camera. I would be more than happy to buy it off of them. I know it is a higher grade cannon with a nice lens.

hahah...worht a try. there are sometimes decent deals at best buy! as a reefer, it still amazes me how I can spend $200+ on a piece of equipment or $$ on corals but struggle to justify spending approx. $100 on a camera....haha

I am right there with ya. This will just allow me to chill out for a while. The more mature my tank is for SPS, the better.

Well, I am going on vacation to Colorado for a week. Getting some snowboarding in. Can't remember how long it's been since I have been there. Can't wait. A friend of ours will be taking care of my fish for the week. She will be stopping by to feed my fish and check to see if they are still swimming. I measured out the daily feedings for her so she can't over feed. Pray for me haha.

Have fun! It should be a blast.

Thanks! It was really nice here the first two days. It is going to be sloppy today, the temp is 40 and it is getting slushy. We are supposed to be getting 6 to 12" tonight so tom should be great. It has been fun snowboarding with just a t-shirt. Everything is going great withthe the fish. I miss them all ready.

Well had a set back today. Something dreamy happned to my skimmer and it started overflowing. Salt level dropped down to 1.019. Something always crappy happens when I am away. My sitter added some salt to some water from my tank. To try and get the salt up. My Picasso clown is missing right now. I need to get home now.

bummer dude. I'm sure it'll be fine. Murphy's law, (sorta) .. if it can happen, it will happen when you're away
