Reefoctopus skimmer not sucking air

I took took my air line off last night to run a red bug treatment and now I hooked it back up I can't get it to suck air. What do I do

Make sure the venturi isn't clogged.

First check Silencer, air tube, venturi for air restriction. Pull out pump and clean. About once a month ro /di water into silencer to clean out any salt creep.

Appears to be clean if I lift the skimmer most of the way out of the water it will start to work but as soon as I set it back it stops pulling in air

Did you take the air tube completely off? I had an issue like this and there was a chunk of salt stuck in the tubing.

What pump is it? i recently had to replace a classic SSS-110-nwb with the aquatrance 1000s pump. The skimmer was great, I could just not rely on the pump to restart after a power outage even if I cleaned it thoroughly, the pump was only 3 months old.
