Hi,Im setting up a reef tank using a cube aquarium which is 50cm(20in) sq. Would like to use the reefpack 200 or 500. As my tank will hold 150lt(36gl..uk,40ish usa)will the 500 be too powerfull as i dont think the 200 skimmer will fit into the hood! Apart from the float switch what other features does the 500 have over the 200?
I would also like to know the size of the top up buckets for fitting in base unit.
many thanks gerry

The 500 would be obtrusive in your tank. I have the 200 on my 150l tank and it works well, I did however just upgrade the skimmer to the 9005(which is about the same size as the whole reefpack 200)because I want to keep primarily SPS corals. I will probably use the Nanocleaner for surface skimming and carbon from time to time. I have the Osmolator mounted on the tank.

I guess it all depends what you want to do, if you want a mixed or soft coral tank the 200 would be the way I'd go. For hard corals buy a 9005 skimmer and the Nanocleaner. That combo will save some valuable real estate in your tank.
