Reefpack 250

They have started to ship from Germany, for the US we expect the first units late this week. I cannot give any info for when they will be in Canada. I know some countries won't receive them until end of the month do to transit times or different plug types, of course Canada uses the same plug as the US.

My ReefPack has arrived. Looks great as Tunze always does, of course except for instructions.....:lol:

Playing with it yesterday and reading on attaching my Osmolator. It said to remove the sensor holder from the magnet and clip it to the 3162.

Question is the sensor holder on my Osmolator magnet not just glued on, thus a part of the complete magnet bracket for the probes? Thats what it appears to be, including a flat back, thus how could it clip to the 3162?

On a side note if I may. I purchased a new 75w Ebo to install in the heater compartment, but appears its to long. Even though the limit is 75w, it must be a 50w Ebo in the picture or at least that what it looks like.

And thanks again......:D

Only the optic sensor installs in the filter, the float remains on the original magnet holder. The point is to increase the accuracy as the filter surface skimmer will magnify any surface change, it also protects the sensor from light (algae growth) and foreign objects.

A 75W heater will stick up about 3/4", it will work just fine though.

I have to correct my advice on the heater. It appears that it may or may not work for the Eheim heaters of 75W. There is a little variation between heaters and some have the thermostat higher and will not detect the temperature. The official answer I got back from Tunze Germany was up to 75W is fine but it should touch the top deck, Sera, Aquarium Systems and others offer shorter 75W heaters. You are free to try it but I would do so carefully, many report it working fine, but I have had a report of the thermostat not registering the temperature with the 3/4" or so above the filter from a US customer, US and Euro 75W Eheim heaters are the same in length but some other variation may be the cause as so far, no complaints to our knowledge in Europe.

Yes, understand its just the optical that goes on there. I thought it would be inside but its just on the rear, but thats fine. In order to attach it to its place on the Comline, instructions say I have to remove the holder for the optical probe from the magnet holder using a screwdriver. The plug the holder into the top rear of the Comline.

My question was, is it not glued onto the magnet holder and how would it just plug in, unless there is a protrusion on the back of it. Thought I would ask before just prying it off.

Understand on the heater. Thank-you for checking on that.

It isn't glued and it's very easy to pop it off the magnet holder

If the osmolator is an old one it may be that part is glued. The earliest magnet holders had all parts glued.

Mine is a couple years old, but never used. Perhaps its glued. Guess I will just pry and see what happens. If glued, can I purchase the one pictured above someplace. {thanks meow}

Thanks

The removable ones slide up and down on the magnet for a fine adjustment. If you need one I have a spare.

Thanks Rodger. The part is here. My 250 is humming along just fine. Still have to get the Osmolator on line. Skimmer is doing very good. Small video on the 9004 thread.

Thanks Tunze for another fine product and Rodger for the always excellent customer service.
