Reefpack

Can anyone describe their experiences with the Tunze Reefpack?

In addition, does anyone know the minimum space requirements for the Reefpack - in terms of space in the tank. I'm most concerned about the depth in the tank that it requires. I'm considering running it in my sump and I'm trying to pick between a 20x20x16 acrylic sump or a simple 10g tank as my sump. Can anyone let me know whether the Reefpack would even fit in these sumps muchless supply enough room for it to function well?

These are just my initial questions but I'm sure I will have a few more if I find it might work in one of these sump configurations.

Thanks in advance.

I have been using the Reefpack since they first came out and really like it (liked it so much I purchased a second). It's a versatile, complete filtration/skimmer/top-off system for sumpless tanks but can be converted for use in a sump.

This past December I was thinking about adding a sump to one of my tanks and how I could use the equipment I had on hand. I ran across the Compact Kit 16 and asked the same question in this thread. Apparently the Reefpack can run in a sump with a few mods. In addition to what Roger had mentioned in the thread, the water level would have to remain constant within the sump chamber that housed the RP and the osmolator sensor / float would have to be relocated (it currently mounts inside the filter). As for the size of the sump, I would think the acrylic sump would be best suit the RP, IMO the 10 gal. would be too small & shallow for the RP.

Thanks doxyman. The reefpack is really meant for in tank use, if you intend to do a sump I would get Compact Kit 16, when you consider that you get the sump, return pump and denitrator it isn't a bad deal.
