ello roger !!!

sorry me bad english writing!!!!

I am a guy from sweden an i have just bought a reefpack 500

and i have a small problem i dont now if that is a problem?? on the doc skimmer you have a line for the waterline .. in the manual it says : the water level in the aquarium should correspond to the data of the unit..

but my level is under the line . not much but a little bit ..0,3 inch
if I lower the skimmer and comlinefilter too the waterline(on the skimmer) the morning after the waterlevel are under the line on the skimmer ..

I wonder if thats proper???? .. the waterline in the comline filter is much lower the waterline in the aqurium. perhaps the waterline in the comlinefilter is low becuse of the surface suction units????
the waterline is just over the laser head ...

shall i be worried?????
is something wrong ???

It is normal to have a small fluctuation and the skimmer can work within a range. It sounds like maybe the cartridge is a bit clogged, this slows the water flow through the filter so the water level drops a little because it influences the sensor.

hi roger !!!
ok thanks you for the answer .. but the skimmer and the comlinefilter have only run for 2 weeks so i dont think the the cartridge is clogged
shall i be worried?????

It generally needs weekly cleaning so it wouldn't be unusual for the filter to be a bit clogged at two weeks. I wouldn't worry about it if the difference is only .3"

Hello again roger!!!

i have a question !!
may comlinefilter in the reefpack500 is spraying out lots off airbubbles.. i have read in the manual that in some aquarium it can appear.. will it stop????
may aquarium have be up 1 month now and the filter is pumping out very much air bubble!!!!
what shall i do??? can i just wait???

well...i am not a deltec user, but when i used hang-ons in the past they all took a little time to break in. They build up a natural 'coating' of what i don't know and that usually leads to gradual dissipation of bubbles. I don't know how the deltec is designed as hang-on, but if you can, put a filter sock of some sort for output water. Hope that makes sense.

Hopefully Roger or another Deltec user will chime in :)

hmmm deltec???? I believe this is a tunze forum ;).. but thanks for the answer anyway eagles..

i hope roger can help me with may question about the airbubbles and tunzecomline ..

When skimmers are new the pumps are strong and plastic repels water, because of this the air escapes. This will improve in a couple weeks.

ok thanks for the answer roger ..

I wonder the waterlevel in the comlinefiltret is just over the infra-red sensor
and it is a space between the infra-red sensor and the surface grip with no water .. if you now what I mean???
shall that be so???
or is that the problem with the airbubbles ????
is that right that the waterlevel shall stay just above the infra-red sensor???

best regart peter

The water should normally come to just the end of the cone, where the sensor becomes a cylinder. It could be a new sensor and the problem will go away or maybe you changed the cartridge which can change the water level in the filter.

ok
the waterlevel is just the end of the cone, where the sensor becomes a cylinder.. so thats all right than puhhh=P..
I changed the cartridge every week ..
but do you think the airbubbles coming too go away ???
it a little bit irritated just fore the moment!!! ...

In my experience the filter always tennds to make a few air bubbles but if it is a lot maybe the KH is high or the oxygen level or it is just the pump is strong when new. Oftenn times people resolve this by using a different filter like 800.14 cartridge core or th 870 with carbon or phosphate remover so their is less vacuum in the filter.
