Reefsi 240 gallon In-Wall Build

So I have been swamped with work since we took over a new business and haven't had much time to work on the tank. Finally got to mess around and put sand and live rock in it. Also got my Calc reactor in and added filter sock holder, ATO holder, and Probe holder in my sump. Also started making RODI today so expect water in the tank Friday!

Geo 624 Reactor! This thing is TALL!

Ill post some more pictures later tonight of the holders I put in the sump and the geo hooked up. the live rock will also kind of change tonight as i'm added about 40 more pounds.

Keep you posted!

Ya the lights were on the blue side of the spectrum so probably about 20k my guess is. The rock scape is definitely changing tonight or tomorrow since I got some more rock.

everything looks awesome, some real quality details. going to subscribe to this to read through all the details.

I believe the majority of it is a FIJI species live rock. All of my live rock that will be in this tank has been Bleached for 24 Hours and acid dipped for 30 Min, then dipped in 2 24 hour Prime baths. This may be a little dramatic but all my live rock has been from prior tanks that I have owned and has been sitting outside for about a year. I didn't know what kind of excess nutrients, bacteria, or organisms were on it.

Thanks Berni21! More details will be arriving once livestock and testing begins, hoping to have QT and frag tank set up soon as well.

Some pictures, Ready for water on Friday!

Finished Sump

Filter Sock Holder!

Ractors/APEX/RODI

Very nice build, hope you don't mind if I tag along.
One thing I noticed, where is the water going to go if any of your filter socks clog. The way you have them at the top of your sump, the water will over flow out of your sump. Bracket that holds your socks should be aprox one inch below the top edge of the sump to safeguard against this, just in case.

Yeah good call, that is actually the last thing I thought about it when doing it. Never really thought of that being a problem. I only plan on running them for a maybe the first couple days and for a day after maintenance just to help get rid of any floating debris that there may be in the tank.

Heres some updates:
Everything before water starts going in.

Red Sea Salt(reg)

Contents

First Bucket!

Aquarium Plants Carbon Doser Arrived today!

So the red sea salt I got off of reviews.

Here is my take.
The salt was right on spec with what they advertised.
Tested the water before it started going into my tank.
0ppm for all nutrient levels
0.02 ppm Phosphate
420 for calcium
Didn't test alk or Mg, I will once the bulk is in my tank.

So I finally started adding water thursday night. I have all the pictures from everyday and I will post them. Couple updates, I'm mixing all my salt water a 1.025-1.026. Went to the LFS and got 3 good pieces of seed rock, some sand from his tanks, and through some tigerpods and what not in there just to get things rolling in the bacteria world. Tank should be full and running tonight!

Re rock scaped the right side of the tank.

Water.

End of First Day.

End of second Day.

End of Third Day.

It will be in full swing today!

looks good, I really like the rock work. The tank, at this stage, looks way bigger than a 240 the way you've got the rocks arranged.

Ya, it gives that impression in person as well which is awesome I think. In the end I wish I went bigger, there was nothing holding me back besides I have never had a bigger tank than a 180. My plan is to get a bigger one rolling within 2 years, aiming for the 600+ mark, we will see how this one goes!
