. . . it all started with the name REEFSTOCK!

Last year I attended and/or presented at nearly all of the major marine aquarium events in the country. At each one I witnessed unique trends and ideas for improving the attendees' experience at these events. I began to ponder the thought of incorporating many of these elements into a show that would take place in my home town.

After months of planning and collaboration with many national and local hobbyists and professionals, one of the most unique marine aquarium events is set to take place right here in the heart of Denver.

On March 8, 2008, REEFSTOCK will take place at the fun and trendy Curtis Hotel in downtown Denver. The back of the flyer is the show program. We will be shipping in several recognized national speakers who will share with us new ideas and new developments on the cutting edge of reef aquarium science.

There will be several national and local vendors and manufacturers displaying and selling new & exciting products at special prices. Additionally there will be a separate Farmer's Market style livestock vending area which will feature an abundance of quality livestock. There will be highly sought-after frags for sale brought in from San Francisco, Los Angeles and Denver reefers. Some local vendors are already beginning their livestock build up in anticipation of the event and you should expect to see a wide variety of brilliant SPS and ZOanthids, limited edition frags and quite a number of australian corals including Acans, Micros, Duncans and more.

Furthermore, a couple manufacturers have agreed to let me demonstrate some brand new and prototype products which have not been revealed anywhere else.

We will be setting up on Friday afternoon and everyone is encouraged to stay friday and saturday night for festivities and some one-on-one time with the speakers, vendors and other attendees. There will also be some associated activities planned for friday and sunday so make sure to stay tuned for more details about this fun, social marine aquarium event.

Could you make purchases on Friday? I have to work on Saturday and am wondering if you could make purchases either Friday evening or early Saturday

The venue won't be open to the public on friday but you could probably get in a little early on Saturday. Otherwise, the show will be running until 7pm if you wanted to come over after work.

I should mention that we will have livestock vending space available for anyone who wants to sell frags. For $50 you will have about 2 square feet in one of the frag tanks to hold and display your corals. The tanks will be lit, flowed and skimmed and space is limited so anyone who is interested in using this space should let me know soon.

Yeah but my schedule is awful. I can choose either 11:30am to 8:30pm or 7:30am to 4:30pm in Northglenn (about 30 mins from Denver). I am guessing most things will be sold by then. Boo. Oh well. Thanks.

I am so stoked about this party, it's about time Denver and Her reefers got a reef aquarium event they deserve.

This one will go down in the history books!
I'm glad I booked a room though, the after party is going to be crazy!

We are working on a solution for that. Gonna try to finagle with mgmt. to leave one tank set up for our travelers to keep frags in.

Yall know that the Rio is only a few blks away! That is if you like Margaritas! Wow 2 conventions in 2 weeks had 1 for work last week and now 1 for fun. The wife thinks im a geeeeeek! O well :bum:

Unlike that one that RMRC put on last February. Who were the speakers again? :-)

Right so say we are underage and unable to "party" because of it(Well we can its just not as fun without anything to drink lol) could there possibly be the compensation of letting us underage people, who miss out on all the fun, in alittle early so we can compensate for the lack of fun by first choice of frags :P ? Not like im going to buy everything good cause after all Im a penny pinching student lol. Also just curious, credit cards accepted or do I have to load up some cash?

We will have one tank setup overnight for attendees to get their frags Sunday morning.

RMRC has put on some great events in the past and REEFSTOCK is just building on the idea that large events are a great way to grow the sense of community amongst reef aquarists in the Colorado area.
