Refractometer Calibrated?

The refractometers that you sell are they calibrated already?

I bought this kit and wanted to know if it's calibrated already. If not, is it ok to calibrate with RODI water? TIA!

Thanks for the post, I couldn't say 100% with confidence that they are calibrated by the manufacturer, but to obtain a precise reading I recommend calibrating your refractometer with distilled or RO/DI water. You can ususally find distilled water in the beverage section of your local grocer. I hope this helps

Hi Walter, I'll check with my RODI water to see how it's calibrated but I also ordered this today so I should have a more accurate reading.

Thanks for the reply, yes the American Solution will also give you a very accurate reading, I haven't used it myself but I have heard good things about it.

Hi Walter, I'm very sad to say that the MD refractometer is not calibrated from the factory and recommend that all people who buy that refractometer by the American Solution. With the solution my refractometer was showing 1.050. It was wayyyy off.
