I've just bought an AquaMedic refractometer. First I decided to test it with deionised water. I kept it in the room with 20C for about 40 min and putted 4 drops od DI water. It showed 0 ppt. After that I checked refractometer with Salifert salinity checking solution 35ppt. It showed 35 ppt, as it should be.
Next day I made the same test but not with 20C but with some lower temperature - about 17-18C. The DI water showed 0 again, but Salifert showed 38 ppt instead of 35. Before testing I shaked Salifert solution, cleaned the nose and discarded first three drops.
What does it mean? What's the problem?
