this thing is bad ***. my silly swing arm hydrometer was pretty off, if i calibrateed this thing right.

oh and i got the ro/di today. i'm gonna set it up tomorrow. sweeeet!

Ive got the same rhs-10atc and after reading this threadhttp://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=953605 I got a little paranoid.
I made a batch of Randys and got a 1.030 with that, and 1.026 with the RO. If I measured everything correctly, Ive been running 1.022 for a few years now, which would explain alot. But, with the measuring issues with Randys, Im not changing anything yet. Ive got the salinity calibration fluid coming, so Ill let you know if it does end up being that far off.

I used distilled in the beginning, but tried Ro one time and they both calibrated the same. I used ro from then on so I didnt have to buy the distilled anymore.

Got the Salinity cal fluid and alls good. It was reading 1.027 after calibrating. With that post and most saying theres is off, it was cheap peace of mind.

I am hoping Santa will bring me a refractometer. After reading all the threads about calibration accuracy Im a lil suspicious of them. How often do they need to be calibrated? Being measuring cup challenged I doubt I could make the home calibration fluid properly so where do you get the cal fluid and how much is it?
