refresh my memory on algae blooms please

My tank is 2 months old. Had the diatom outbreak and the red slime outbreak both have come and gone .Now I have green hair. 20 long with a 10 gal sump with chaeto and skimmer in sump. Use ro/di. A decent clean up crew...I've been pulling out as much as I can..is this still part of new tank syndome? Ride it out or should I do more at this point?

GHA can happen in new tanks, and yours is still young and maturing. It can also happen in older mature tanks when water parameters start to deteriorate, lighting needs replacing, phosphates rise...

Manual removal is the way to go. Keep up with it, may take a few weeks to overcome. Keep you other equipment clean too.

ya you need to check out the lights and other than that id say it pretty normal

my bulbs are brand new...thanks for the replies everyone. I've been out of the hobby for a few years and my old tank log in "lost" somewhere
