Refuge Question & Temp Question

First the Refugium question.

I want to get or build either a hang on back refugium or in tank refugium. Ive looked at the ones for sale and I think I am able to put in the in tank one with the dimension I saw. The hang on the back ones I dont have enough clearance with the wall.

Would I be better with the in tank bought, or build a HOB?

Later on down the road I want to add a mandarin to the tank and thought that I could start breeding a whole bunch of pods in preparation to it.

Now the Temp Question.

When the lights go out on the tank the temp is 78.5 to 79 degrees usually. When I wake up in the morning its 81.5 to 82 degrees with no lights. There is a glass cover over the tank. I just thought it would be hotter during the day and colder at night. Any ideas to remedy this so it works the other way. If I wake up in the middle of the night and see a high temp I open the glass cover and it goes down to 79.5 degrees usually by the time morning comes around.

You will get the most out of a fuge that can be the biggest that will fit. You would benefit more from a fuge all by itself say in a 20 Gallon tank.

The glass tops are what is keeping the heat in, of they are removed you will get evaporation which will also cool the tank.
