Refuge waterflow???

I know people say that a refuge shouldn't be flowing to fast that way the refuge and skimmer have a longer contact time. What is a good amount of gph for a refuge??? I am running a 50 gallon with a 20 gallon sump. How much flow should be going through the sump???Once I know how much flow is going through then I can calculate with my head distance which pump I need.

so then would you suggest the magdrive 350???? My tank is a 50 gallon and has a 20 gallon sump/refuge. There is 4 feet of head so that would be perfect correct??

Are these reliable and quite pumps???

I haven't heard this. You definitely don't want more flow then your returns can handle, but it will help with turn over in your tank to have higher volumes. I currently have a 600 gph return with a 110g tank. With enough flow, you may be able to avoid a powerhead in the fug.

Although as a bottom line, it should be 1-2 times tank volume per hour. So, with a 50g tank, it shouldn't be less then 50-100 gph.
