Refugium Designs or Pics?

I am looking to build a refugium that will draw/return water from/to the sump. I have an old 30 long I was planning on using. If you were me how would you set it up? How would you divide up the 30? WOuld you place the refugium above the sump or same level? What size pump would you use? etc...
