Refugium Filtersock?

I am trying to figure out how to put a filter sock on my intake hose on my refugium. I have 3/4 inch clear plastic hose, bought from HD. I tried to tie it around the hose but it keeps sliding off. Has any experienced this problem before and how did you solve it? Any help is appreciated.

Also what size do you guys use 100 micron, 200 micron etc. thanks

Why do you want to put a filter sock on the refugium anyway??

To stop the gunk that gets taken in by the overflow. Is this a bad idea?

By "gunk" do you mean food??

The little critters that will inhabit your refugium need to eat, too.

Try putting a zip tie or two of them. The zip ties will act as a lip to put the sock over. I did a similar thing with my return. 100 microns for drs.foster
