Refugium Fish that will eat snales

I'm running a 100g tote for my fuge. I'm looking for recommendations on a fish that will clean out any snails that have been appearing lately but will leave algae alone. Due to my return pump being inside of the fuge, I'm not really wanting anything alive that will jam the pump.

I thought about (and had) a harlequin in the sump but I was a little afraid he would go a bit hungry since I dont want to have to feed the sump a couple times a day. If they are probably the best I'll still go that route and figure out feeding.

It honestly doesnt even have to be reef safe. I'm not really keeping coral in the fuge tank, just algae and live rock. Possibly a clown trigger or something that will easily hunt down snails.

Clown triggers get really big. I suggest looking into undulated triggers instead, if you want a trigger.

Look in to the smaller puffers as well: Tobies and similar species.

Get a small puffer like a valentini puffer. They stay small enough, don't eat algae, and will eat snails. IMO triggers will get too big for the space you are describing.

I would go with a green or figure 8 pufferfish - they stay fairly small and are known snail eaters.

Not all tobies eat snails. My Valentini has left my snails and micro hermits alone. I would get a puffer with a larger beak.

LOL

"Snails" spelled as "Snales", but I read "Snakes" and wondered how on Earth you got snakes!!!

Sorry for the reply with no useful information, and I'm not trying to be the spelling police either. Just found it entertaining :) Then again, as I age I seem to be easily entertained.

haha, it was a little late in the day for me while I was writing it out. No doubt there are errors.
