Refugium in a sump

I have a All-Glass mega flow 4 which is a decent size wet / dry. I have a small area in the sump available and empty.

Can I make a half @ss refugium in there if I put some light on top of it?

Will my FOWLR tank take advantage of it being in a small area?

What is required to make it a refugium?

Keep in mind I have no other space to put a refugium and the large portion of my wet / dry is taken up by the skimmer.

where is your return pump

The return pump is in the sump, in the second last chamber and the last chamber is empty.

Put the return pump in the last chamber and make a fuge. A small fuge is not bad but you will have to remove the algae more often as it will grow crazy and take over your fuge.
